I was out in Tramore last week. It was around 8pm and the sun was beginning to set. Waves were crashing in and there was some nice rays of sun here and there. I took the following photo of Tramore church in the background as the waves roll in at the pier.
One of the techniques used in this photo was to keep the camera lens at a fixed length as I walked up and down the pier, trying different angles and different views. After I got a nice angle and view I played around with the zoom to get everything I wanted into the shot, selecting the Crashing wave as the subject and focal point.
The final image is a very slight HDR to bring out a bit more detail in the shot.
