Niagara Falls : 29/Project 52

I haven’t updated the Project 52 in a while and will have a few catch-up posts this week in relation to it. This weeks project 52 post is of Niagara Falls, A Panoramic View with the Maid of the Mist. Luckily it was a good day with good sunshine which always helps when shooting water, adds colour and stops it looking grey. Blue skies also lend a nice contrast and introduce good colour.

I shot this from the The Journey behind the Falls area of Niagara Falls (on the Canadian side). I used a Tamron 10-24 Wide angle lens and since this takes in such a wide area, I then cropped the image to give a panoramic view of the falls. I’ve played around with contrast and all that to try reduce the effects of the mist but I’m happy enough with the final version. I also like the little rainbow near the Maid of the Mist which is really only possible when you have decent sunlight on your subject.
